RACING RETURNS THIS SATURDAY WITH ENDURO AND OPEN PRACTICE!

With late season snowfalls making winter seem even longer this year, it’s finally time to put cars on the track and hear the sound of engines at Rockford Speedway! Join us this Saturday April 4 for a full day of on-track activities, highlighted by the WXRX Stone and Double T 200 lap enduro. The activities begin at 11 AM, as drivers will have a first chance to fire up their machines and race fans will have their first chance to see these machines during an Open Practice Session. The Practice runs until 2:30 PM. Then, at 3 PM, it’s all-out motorized madness with the running of the WXRX Stone and Double T 200 featuring four cylinder cars and drivers from at least four different states! The event runs ‘rain or shine’ and is a fun way to get the new season started. Adult admission for Saturday’s WXRX Stone and Double T 200 is $12, Students 12-17 are $8, Children 6-11 are $5 and Kids 5 and under are admitted FREE! We hope to see you at the track this Saturday as we officially say ‘hello’ to racing and ‘good riddance’ to winter!

SPRING CLASSIC ON DECK NEXT WEEKEND!

Next Sunday afternoon April 12, it’s the Midwest’s first major asphalt race of 2015, with the running of the 38th Annual Spring Classic. Again this year, the Big 8 Late Model Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet is the featured attraction at Spring Classic. The Big 8 Series races at Spring Classic have long been known as an early season ‘Clash of the Champions’ and this year’s race looks no different, with a solid blend of champions and challengers planning on testing the ‘high banks’ next Sunday afternoon. The “Best Weekly Warriors in the Country” will contest an 88 lap feature as the day’s main event. The Mid American Stock Car Series kicks off their season at Spring Classic for the 23rd straight year, with a 50 lap feature event, while the American Ethanol Super Trucks make their first ever appearance at Rockford Speedway next weekend, contesting Twin 25 lap features. Gates open at 11 AM next Sunday, with the first race going green at 1 PM. Adult admission is $20, Students 12-17 are $10, Children 6-11 are $5, with kids 5 and under free!

SEASON OPENER, DAY FULL OF ACTIVITIES SET FOR SATURDAY APRIL 18!

Saturday April 18 is set to be a full day of activities leading up to Opening Night at Rockford Speedway!  The day gets started at 11 AM with a Preseason Car Show at ONYX Bar and Grill (located at the corner of Highways 251 & 173 in Machesney Crossing).
